Editor’s Picks: The Most Low Maintenance Red Lip You’ll Ever Meet

Editor’s Picks: The Most Low Maintenance Red Lip You’ll Ever Meet

Today’s pick comes from Racked Chicago Associate Editor Zara Husaini.

Tarte Lipsurgence matte lip tint in Fiery, $ 24 at TarteCosmetics.com

While some girls rely on mascara to look more awake in the morning, I prefer coffee. Which is all well and good, except for the fact that my makeup repertoire is usually limited to a swipe of Burts Bees and my hands are always shaky.

That’s why I’ve wholeheartedly embraced this Tarte Lipsurgence crayon. Regular red lipsticks often make me look a hot damn mess (shaky hands, you know) unless I exfoliate my dry lips before applying and wipe out-of-the-line smudges after. But this lip crayon pretty much foolproof—a one-step bold lip that’s perfect for beginners. The moisturizing formula doesn’t tug on even the most parched lips, the chubby crayon construction makes staying within the lipline a breeze, the minty scent freshens breath, and the color itself is great. It’s not obnoxiously bright and the matte formula is without any hint of shine. This crayon is the perfect thing to toss in your bag for those days when a day at the office blends into a night out—and the packaging is pretty adorable.

At the Billboards, Ke$ha’s Naked Face and Butt

The singer showed up to the Billboard Awards in an almost unrecognizable state. Her face was practically devoid of makeup, save for a layer of foundation, some bronzer, a swipe of mascara, and black eye liner. This is quite the opposite of her usual look, which often includes dark eye

Billboard Awards Red-Carpet Highlights: Madonna’s Fishnets, Ke$ha’s Butt Cheek

Last night’s Billboard Awards red carpet was a total circus — literally, as there were live animals present (Nayer’s Shnauzer). Madonna one-upped her own Met Gala outfit with yet more ripped fishnets, garters, another neck padlock, and a jacket crawling with what looked like leather caterpillars. Ke$ ha, however, looked uncharacteristically tame

Intelligence: JCPenney Is Going To Fix Their Internet Problem

Intelligence: JCPenney Is Going To Fix Their Internet Problem

JCP rep Cindy Crawford and CEO Mike Ullman in 2011

Of all Ron Johnson‘s questionable policies during his tenure at JCPenney, his declaration that e-commerce is “not a priority” was arguably the most curious. But Mike Ullman is here to make everything better now. The recently re-instated CEO says that “fixing” the Internet business is a top priority.

“Our store associates depend on the Internet to extend the sizes and styles, to sell something they don’t have in the store, so we are in the process of putting that back together,” he said at the company’s annual meeting on Friday. According to WWD‘s recap of the event, Ullman expects e-commerce to start posting sales gains this year, after losing a “significant” portion of revenue last year. There was no comment on whether the company also remains committed to making “cute shit.”
